             A History

      Hearts of Iron -- the paperback reprint of FLAME DRAGONS OF THE KOREAN WAR -- documents a little-known, but significant part of a bloody conflict which exploded on 25 June 1950 and dragged on until 27 July 1953.

     It is told by the men of the Flame Platoon, Headquarters Company, First Tank Battalion, First Marine Division, and others who fought with them.

     Co-authored by Jerry Ravino and Jack Carty, both of whom served in the Flame Platoon, the book chronicles of one of the most unique combat units in the history of the United States Marine Corps.
